THE LEISURE
ALLSTARS

With the Leisure sound now being championed regularly on FBI radio in Australia and also on the airwaves in Washington DC, an independent film scored by Plan B of the Leisure Allstars and a recent slot on MTV style, its quite apparent that the Leisure sound is being noticed much further afield than the outskirts of the Allstars hometown. They're still loyal to Bristol however and their rockin‚ Saturday night residency.

Sat 5th July
Throught July we will be showcasing some of Bristol's best live acts with a full live band every Saturday at Western Soul. We'll follow up the live action with our very own residents in full effect.

SHADZ AND THE ROOT ELEVATION BAND LIVE

First up is a show from one of Bristol's hottest rising stars, SHADZ AND THE ROOT ELEVATION BAND. Showcasing a range of styles and genres from soul-garage-hip hop plus a lot of other genres on top, he has recently been working on his first EP entitled CHILDHOOD LOVE, which is a real good package for showcasing some of his material. Shadz, aka Jaevon McCarthy is a soul singer and MC with a mission to expand the horizons of hip hop, soul and R'n'B, while fusing them together. Despite only being in his early twenties, he's already been rapping, singing and writing songs for several years and uses the experience he's built up to help Bristol teenagers keen to tread the same path. One of Shadz' songs (recorded with Type, JB and featuring Nicole Jackson) was recently given a five star review in DJ Magazine, beating amongst others Jay Z.

"Wonderful vocals from UK MC Shadz. Dead limited so get on this quick" - DJ Mag

"Comanding spoken word piece had the room falling silent and listening intently" - Venue magazine

"One of the most interesting and freshest artists in Bristol" - onahype.com
